Please Help - uc_affiliate2

Question:

Hey there,
Great Website.
Many thanks too for your guide on how to set up uc_affiliate2 in Drupal. I am very new to Drupal (installed it for the first time 2 weeks ago) so it's
tutorials like yours that have enable me to get to where I am now so
quickly. i.e. a fully working site (albeit someone elses template for now)
with a shop complete with affiliate tracking! Wow!

I have a couple of questions that I hope you might be able to help me
with.

(i) when setting up the affiliate links is it possible to specify the page
that the clicker/visitor will land on? I'd like them to land on a product
page rather than on the home page and still have the cookie fire off.

(ii) if a page that was not designed in drupal (i.e. normal HTML) but is
with the same site (e.g. www.example.com/landing/landing.html) will the
cookie still fire off or does the page need to be within the drupal system
and/or folder.

If you could let me know the answer to either of those questions I'd be
hugely greatful.

Many thanks

James

1. Hi James, Thanks for posting

Hi James,

Thanks for posting this.

i) Users get an affiliate link for each product. They can get this by going to their affiliate area and then clicking export. I admit, it's a bit far fetched. You can also redirect your frontpage to your most popular product.

ii) The page needs to be within the drupal system or you will have to write a custom code in this page to set a similar cookie.

Hi dorien,

Many thanks for your answer. With regards to...

How can someone go about writing a generic piece of custom code that can be dropped into pages like this?

Are you able to help?

With thanks

James

Someone who is familiar with the cookie that uc_affiliate2 sets. Perhaps one of this module's developers.
