Panel Pane Display

Question: 

In section 4.3.3 we are told to create a new View with an
3. Add a panel pane display

But I do not have a "panel pane" display type in the views display dropdown , I do have a "content pane" (and a pain in my forehead).

Also has anyone else had problems getting the gmaps stuff to display in the edit user profile? I have "Locative information" not location and the map, Current coordinates, etc do not show.

This project is taking endless hours to do, it is all very simple once this or that is configured or translated into how it actually is being implemented in the current releases but there is nothing to tell how.

Yes, it is content pane.

Concerning gmaps: check the location settings in the content type's edit page.
