Same problem for me. I read your link and others at least 3 times yesterday before listing my problem and I'm still stuck.
Done everything up to the end of chapter 4 but priles look like this http://www.artlink.co.uk/users/darrelldv
Nothing seems to change except round edged boxes, so is their one check box somewhere overriding the whole profile? Please help! :)

7. ok.. think I'm getting
ok.. think I'm getting it.
found fake member that I made direct with ../node/4
when I'm logged in as them and not admin I see the profile, from 'my profile' link. I added something to the top pane in admin just top check it was what I was seeing and it came up on the profile. Seems being logged in as admin meant I wasn't seeing everything as I should, confusing but probably somethig I can look at solving.

1. Hi
Ok, chances are that you have put the modules in the root module diretory of Drupal and did not create a seperate diretory this maks all the difference in the world.
