Job Description:
Tired of big company politics? Come join Blink Reaction, a small, fast-growing web development company based in Manalapan, NJ (Monmouth County). We are looking for a talented, full-time Information Architect (IA) with at least three years of recent, professional experience. Our IA is a key contributor to defining, developing and visualizing the user experience for our interactive products. Blink’s IA works collaboratively in a team environment from concept through design development and production to formulate a strategic, highly usable and technically feasible design solution.
Key Responsibilities:
* Creating websites that surpass expectations by keenly understanding the client’s goals and how viewers can optimally utilize the site; * Managing a new or existing site’s navigation, functionality, interaction, structure and data flow;
* Maintaining a never-ending passion for new technology and incorporating it into clients’ projects; * Producing clean, concise, site maps, transaction flows, data flow diagrams and interface schematics;
* Presenting various stages of documentation to the client on a timely basis;
* Understanding usability best practices;
* Ability to lead meetings with clients and Blink development staff;
* Excellent writing, speaking, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills;
* Proficiency in one or more of the following: Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Visio;
* A strong understanding of web technologies including DBs, CMSs, e-commerce, client-server, and front-end technologies like HTML, JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, and ActiveX;
* Strong problem-solving skills, an investigative mentality, and a capacity for strategic and associative thinking.
* Three years of recent experience in website development.
Technical Skills:
Mastery of significant portions of the User Experience skill set:
• Creating/utilizing Use cases
• Creating Wire frames
• Creating Site maps
• Designing site/application’s user interface
• Building HTML prototypes
• Designing and running usability tests
• Identifying/designing content types
• Writing functional specifications
Also helpful:
1. Writing client case studies
2. Building taxonomies
3. Blogging about web technology
Minimum Education:
BA/BS in CS/EE or other technical discipline preferred.
