Job Description: 

I need a site set up with similar features to this site. The site needs to have the full feature set: user profiles with video and images and documents, groups with video, pictures etc. And a calendar for events that a group might be putting on. Permissions and roles need to be properly organized too.

I'm happy to release this site to the community as a gift when the setup is complete.

What I do require, however, is that the site be robust and not infested with bugs. A buggy site will be of no use to me so I must advise that I really do require a reasonably robust system.

Again, I'm not sure of the cost for this. For a competent developer I think the setup would take only a short time. But for a novice it may take a long time to do. I myself am a novice with Drupal but I have 15 years experience programming in Java, SQL, Coldfusion, Javascript, PHP, CSS and some other things.

Let's talk about the cost as well... I need to understand the complexity of the work involved before agreeing to pay for work

well you should consider that the choice of the modules you use and the correct implementation, including concerns about seo and speed is a lot of work. In my experience a week will be not enough.

If you do things serious, you have to give an aquivalent for that amount of time.

Is this some sort of error, I think 20$ for the cost of this project is extremely small, setting up a drupal site is a long drawn out process, if you do this right

That's why he put such a low number. He needed more info before setting a real price.
